Day 1

Arrive Paro - Thimphu (60 km / approx. 2 hour drive)

Welcome to your Bhutan tour! On arrival at the air port in Paro, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Thimpu, the modern capital city of Bhutan enroute visit Simtokha Dzong: An important historical monument and for merBuddhist monastery, Simtokha(Atopa Demon)is the oldest dzongin Bhutan, built 1627.Themost significant feature is the series of over 300 slatecarvings behind the prayer wheels in the courtyard. On arrival, check into the hotel.
The rest of the day is at leisure to explore the city. Overnight in Thimphu. (B)

Day 2

Excursion To Punakha (Approx.80 Kms / 03 hours)

Thismorning,drivetovalleysofPunakha,enroutevisittheDochuLaPass–amountainpassinthesnowcovered mountains.ThePassonacleardayoffersmagnificentviewofthesnowcappedmountainsoftheHimalayas.Also, visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, majestically located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Punakha Dzong is the second oldest and second largest dzong in Bhutan. One of the most picturesque ancient fortresses, it was constructed in 1637-38 by ZhabdrungNgawangNamgyal, and was the seat of Bhutan's government until Thimphu was established as the new capital in 1955.Later, drive back to your hotel in Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu. (B)
Note: The Punakha Dzong is closed in winter months when the monk’s body is in Punakha. All visits to Dzong and Monasteries are limited till the courtyard only.

Day 3

On to Paro * enroute city tour of Thimphu (60 Kms / 03 hours)

After breakfast, drive towards Paro, enroute proceed for a city tour of Thimpu, visiting places like - National Memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma Statue
National Memorial Chorten: The large Tibetan-style National Memorial Chorten was built in 1974 to honour the memory of the third King, His Majesty Jigme DorjiWangchuck (the father of modern Bhutan). This whitewashed chorten, with its golden spires, features elaborate mandalas, statues and a shrine dedicated to the popular thirdking. The religious paintings and complex tantric statues inside the monument reflect both peaceful and wrathful aspects of Buddhist deities. Besides a photo of the late king, there are no mortal remains of him in the chorten.
Buddha Dordenma Statue: Made of bronze and gilded in gold, the Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni statue, the largest Buddha statue in the world at a height of 169 feet. Sitting upon a large meditation hall, there are 125,000 smaller Buddha statues, also cast in bronze and gilded that have been placed within the main statue.
Folk Heritage Museum: Housed in a restored three storied, 19th century building, the Folk Heritage Museum provides a glimpse of the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle through exhibits, demonstrations and documentation of rural life. It has on display typical household objects, domestic tools and equipments that were used by rural families of that period.Later, proceed your drive towards Paro. On arrival in Paro, check into your Hotel.The rest of the evening is at leisure for Independent activities. Overnight in Paro. (B)

Day 4

In Paro

After breakfast, proceed for a city tour of Paro visiting to KichuLhakang, DrukgyelDzong and National Museum of Bhutan.
KichuLhakang :KichuLhakang is a Himalayan Buddhist temple situated in the Lango Gewog area of Paro, Bhutan. The original temple dated back to the 7th century built by the Tibetan Emperor SongtsänGampo. In the 8th century, it was visited by Padmasambawa (Guru Rinpoche) and it is believed he concealed many spiritual treasures here. For many centuries the temple remained unnoticed until the 15th century when Pema Lingpa, a famous saint of Tibetan Buddhism uncovered the temple and restored it as it was before.
DrukgyelDzong: DrugyelDzong is the best example of a fortified Dzong built in the 17th century to commemorate Bhutanese victory over the combined forces of Tibetan and Mongolian army, which attempted several invasions to the country. Though the fortress was destroyed by fire in 1951, the ruins remain an impressive and imposing sight, reflecting unique and intriguing design and construction techniques.
National Museum of Bhutan (open till 4 pm): National Museum of Bhutan boasts of a collection of over 3000 works of Bhutanese art covering over 1,500 years of the country’s cultural heritage. The rest of the day is at leisure for independent activities. Overnight in Paro. (B)

Day 5

In Paro

After breakfast, drive till the base of the world famous Taktsang Lhakhang. Taktsang Lhakhang or the Tiger's Nest is the most famous Buddhist pilgrimage site and temple complex in Bhutan. Visible from afar, this stunning and highly revered monastery is perched on a high granite cliff at an altitude of 10,236 ft., overlooking the northern Paro valley.Later, drive back to your hotel. Overnight in Paro. (B)
